You know, before you even start reading the bios below, that you probably want to buy tickets to see Puppets in the Hands of a Malevolent God. You can do so here:

Rachel Hillis

(The Foreigner ; Elizabeth Huxley)
Picture
Anyone who knows RACHEL HILLIS (The Foreigner; Elizabeth Huxley) knows that she loves all things horror, so it's only natural that she chose this production as her second show with Post Productions! Recently, you may have seen her descent into madness as Renfield in Dracula (The Bank Theatre), and her other notable onstage credits include Hangmen (Post Productions), Clue (Korda Artistic Productions), and Waitress (Windsor Light Music Theatre). Technically that last one was below-stage in the pit chorus but who's judging? She’s also worked offstage in such productions as Spring Awakening, Something Rotten, and The Drowsy Chaperone (all with Korda Artistic Productions). Additionally, Rachel has been a contestant in The Edele Winnie Women’s Monologue Competition for the past three years. When not performing, Rachel can be found working at the public library, reading a good book, or playing with her cats.

Archer Bennett

(The Cripple ; Claire Pascal)
Picture
ARCHER BENNETT (The Cripple; Claire Pascal) is ecstatic to debut on the Shadowbox stage. Puppets in the Hands of Malevolent God has been a challenge like no other for this seasoned performer. Past roles include Queen Hecuba in Trojan Women (Walkerville Collegiate Institute), Valerie Clark in A Chorus Line (Arts Collective Theatre), and Lord Fancourt Babberly "Babbs" in Charlie’s Aunt (Paulin Memorial Players) – each of which had Archer on stage from lights up to lights down, and each play offered new elements to explore. Each of these challenges – whether crowned in a lavish mask, singing and dancing, or done up in drag – have allowed Archer to further hone their craft. However, no production has presented them with two roles to play in one show. . . until now. Archer would like to thank Michael and Fay for welcoming them both on and backstage. Being able to work on each element of this production has been an honor and a treat. They would also like to thank the cast for the dedication and warmth that they brought to each rehearsal. Finally, Archer would like to thank you, the audience, for coming to see this work of art brought to life. And now, without further ado, please sit back, secure your poncho, and enjoy the show.

Chantel ParÉ

(Lucy Crowe ; Penelope Erasmus)
Picture
CHANTEL PARÉ (Lucy Crowe; Penelope Erasmus) is ecstatic to play two challenging roles in Puppets in the Hands of a Malevolent God! Chantel is a 21-year-old drama student at the University of Windsor. She has worked as an actor on the Shadowbox stage several times in the past, performing in plays such as Bite me, Big Time! (Post Productions / Pickle Jam Collective), Pirate Attack on the 1C Bus Going Downtown (Post Productions), Wicked Women of Windsor (A Warped Mind Productions), and in The Edele Winnie Women's Monologue Competition every year since 2022. Chantel is a lover of all things horror, and especially a fan of the psychological and thriller genres.

Courtesy Olympia
Lebert-Dean

(Annie-Frid ; Chantal de Lubac)
Picture
COURTESY OLYMPIA LEBERT-DEAN (Annie-Frid; Chantal de Lubac) is an actor who gravitates toward more visceral roles, as evidenced by 4.48 Psychosis (Post Productions) being her first foray into theatre. By utilizing her energetic physical prowess, unique vocal range, and love of philosophy and psychology, she aims to find the humanity embedded within otherwise inhumane characters. Having thus far worked exclusively with Post Productions, including as a contestant in The Edele Winnie Women’s Monologue Competition since 2024, Courtesy quickly discovered a profound sense of acceptance and camaraderie amongst Michael and Fay. Currently she is pursuing an education as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic at St Clair College. In addition to her involvement with the Shadowbox Theatre, her transition and recovery story are presently the subject of a documentary being filmed here in Windsor. When she isn't pursuing acting or education she's probably in the gym, singing, or looking for a new anime to watch.

Cheri Scratch

(Ms. Calhoun ; Birgitte Rahner)
Picture
CHERI SCRATCH (Ms. Calhoun; Birgitte Rahner) is still pinching herself after being cast in Michael K. Potter's latest trip to insanity. This is her fourth production with Post – having previously starred in The Children, Hangmen, and Copracorn – and she's so exhilarated to bring to you not one intriguing character, but two! And in such wicked little horror vehicles. . . as you're about to witness! Cheri was also a contestant in The Edele Winnie Women’s Monologue Competition in 2023 and 2024. She's ever so appreciative of Michael K. Potter and Fay Lynn for their undying faith and her family and pets who have helped hold her together.

Camryn S. Kingsley

(Robin ; Margaret Anscomb)
Picture
CAMRYN S. KINGSLEY (Robin; Margaret Anscomb) wonders yet again why you had to go and pull her out of the marshes for this one. Honestly, you'd think having recently been in Frankenstein (Korda Artistic Productions) and Stuck (Post Productions) would have been enough - but no, she's got to crawl out from under her nice warm pile of earth once again. She's quite lucky that these plays are good ones, or it would all have been for nought, and rather a waste of a summoning circle and several sacrificial mushrooms. Besides, she’s emerged from her earthen tomb each year since 2023 as a contestant in The Edele Winnie Women’s Monologue Competition. Since she's gone through all the trouble of making sure that she's bramble-and-thicket-free, would you make her the happiest creature in the world by coming to see her in Puppets in the Hands of a Malevolent God?

Gabriel Robinson

(Dominic Pascal)
Picture
Gabriel Robinson (Dominic Pascal) is a 13-year-old actor who chose to audition for Puppets in the Hands of a Malevolent God because he really liked the character of Dominic, a boy who is both funny and serious, which Gabriel finds impressive. Gabriel has been involved with Revolution Youth Theatre for several years, having performed in Fractured Fairytales, The Dracula Spectacula, Adventures with Puppets, The Shakespeare Follies Variety Show, and Frankenstein Rocks!. He was also featured in Fearless Frieda & The Giant: An Original Children’s Musical (Korda Kids Productions). In June, Gabriel was a contestant in the first ever Edele Winnie Youth Monologue Competition. In his spare time, he likes to play games, hang out with his One Friend and his Strong Friend, and watch TV shows made for adults.

Marcus Reaume

(Emmitt Huxley)
Picture
Born in Perth, West Australia and raised in Lasalle, Ontario, MARCUS REAUME (Emmitt Huxley) is an amazing theatre loving 12-year-old. You may recognize Marcus from Velveteen Rabbit (where he was a tin soldier), Madagascar (where he was a kid scout, a lemur and, best for last, steak), and most notably for his performance as Gavroche in Les Miserable – all with Riverfront Theatre Company. Coming up this winter, you can see him in a double feature as Ian in We Open Tomorrow Night and Fargoyle in We Are Monsters, then in the spring as Young Moses in Prince of Egypt (Riverfront Theatre Company). Marcus is in grade 7 Hockey Academies at Lajeunesse, pursuing his passion for hockey. He also enjoys soccer, swimming, and volleyball. Outside of sports he loves playing the piano and enjoys being the best pianist in his home. His other interests and talents include creative building, fishing, and jumping on a pogo stick with no hands while solving a Rubix cube! Marcus has a big family of six people: his mom, dad, two sisters, and brother. He also has 17 cousins to take care of, play with, and have tons of fun with, as well as one on the way who just might be born on one of the performance nights of Puppets in the Hands of a Malevolent God. Spooky.

Michael K. Potter

Writer; Director; Producer; Lighting & Sound Designer; Promoter

(Dr. Frederickson ; Father Gavin)
Picture
MICHAEL K. POTTER (Writer; Director; Producer; Sound & Lighting Designer; Promoter) is a multi-disciplinary artist, Managing Director of Post Productions, and co-owner/operator of The Shadowbox Theatre. After spending the first part of his artistic career working primarily as an author, critic, and actor he began producing and directing theatre when he co-founded Post Productions in 2016. Since then Michael has produced 42 plays, directed 23, co-wrote a play and a musical (both produced), coordinated and produced two albums, co-created and coordinated the Windsor-Essex Playwriting Contest (since 2018) for which he also serves as a judge, co-creator and coordinated the Edele Winnie Women’s Monologue Competition (since 2022) for which he also serves as host, and co-created and coordinated the Theatre Skills Education Program (since 2018) in which he teaches playwriting courses. In 2022 he received an Arts Leadership Award (Theatre) from Windsor Endowment for the Arts. In 2024 Michael executive produced, directed, and starred in the TV series (up)Staged, created and written in 2021 with Fay Lynn and Joey Ouellette (coming to a streaming service near you. . . soon). This year he began hosting a new series, Let’s Talk Generations, for CFTV produced by the Windsor-Essex Community Arts Project (WECAP). When not working in the arts, Michael is a philosopher and faculty member in the University of Windsor’s Centre for Teaching and Learning, where he focuses on educational development as a Teaching and Learning Specialist. Although he is a reluctant actor who has been trying to retire from the stage since 2016, you can next see him as A in Crave by Sarah Kane (Post Productions) this December.

fAY lYNN

Director; Producer; Stage Manager; Set Designer
Picture
As the Artistic Director of Post Productions and co-owner/operator of The Shadowbox Theatre, FAY LYNN (Director; Producer; Stage Manager; Set Designer) spends the better part of her life on and around a stage. In the two-decade span of her theatrical career she has produced and co-produced approximately 41 plays, directed and co-directed 17 plays including Which Way, Millennial Man? (Post Productions) and The Yellow Wallpaper (Windsor Feminist Theatre), wrote one short play (Traffic), co-wrote a play (The Worst Thing I Ever Did) and a musical (Another F**king Christmas Play: A F**king Musical), co-created and coordinated The Windsor-Essex Playwriting Contest (since 2018) for which she also serves as a judge, and co-created and coordinated The Edele Winnie Women’s Monologue Competition (since 2022) for which she also serves as a judge and acting coach. Outside of the artistic world she sells her labour as an Individual Direct Support Professional working within the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Windsor.

Mitchell Branget

Special Effects Artist
Picture
At just 27 years old, MITCHELL BRANGET (Special Effects Artist) is a Canadian writer, director, special effects/makeup artist, production designer, and editor. He recently acquired his MFA in media & film at the University of Windsor. While at the university he wrote and directed multiple award-winning short films such as Die Kiste: The Crate, and Dreamer’s Journey. Mitchell has worked as a special effects artist on over 25 films and has directing/producing experience as the co-founder of his production company New Way Media Productions, which creates various forms of media from short films to commercial advertisements and wedding videos. . . although Mitchell’s true passion is creating horror films.

Shane Trowbridge

Composer & Musician
Picture
SHANE TROWBRIDGE (Composer and Musician) is a Windsor-based musician and filmmaker who has collaborated with many other filmmakers in the region, including Gavin Michael Booth, Ken Amlin, and Jesse Peyton – working his way up from PA, Grip, AC, to Assistant Director, Editor, and Screenwriter. Shane is also the executive producer, director, composer and writer for Shane’s Shorts, a compilation of short films streaming on YouTube, including his first short film, Hi, Chase – a gripping story of addiction that was featured in the Windsor International Film Festival. An honours graduate in music composition and performance from the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, Shane has composed/arranged music for theatre companies and bands around Windsor and is now working on a score for an upcoming children’s educational TV show. He also composes, arranges, and plays music for his own independent projects. In a previous life, Shane was a touring musician in the United States.

Kris Simic

Poster & Program Designer
Picture
KRIS SIMIC (Poster and Program Designer) is a graphic designer with more than 15 years of experience in graphic/web design, print media and social media marketing. She studied drawing and painting at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto before returning to her hometown of Windsor to earn her graphic design diploma at St. Clair College. Kris has been involved in the Windsor-Essex theatre industry on stage as an actress and behind the scenes as a stagehand, set builder/decorator and marketer/graphic designer since 2013. She’s enjoyed working with the Post Productions team since their first production, Oleanna, designing their posters and programs. Her program design for Post Productions’ play First Night won Best Program in the Windsor-Essex Critic’s Choice Theatre Awards 2024. If you are interested in viewing samples of her work, all of her past posters with Post Productions are featured in the hallway of The Shadowbox Theatre.

Kieran Potter

Lighting & Sound Technician
Picture
KIERAN POTTER (Light and Sound Technician) is a cataclysm of gormless invention. An unknowable wellspring from which pours a bountiful harvest of cerebral fruits. Kieran enjoys monsters, bugs, comedy, horror, good films, bad films, in-between films, being very tall, yoghurt-dipped pretzels, and collecting comic books nobody has heard of. He is currently hard at work making zines and short-form videos and live streams, writing stories, doodling on sticky notes, and more. Kieran is finishing a combined honours degree in visual art and communication, media, and film at the University of Windsor. You can follow him on TikTok, YouTube, BlueSky, Twitch, LetterBoxd, and most other social media sites as "RamenSploosh". Kieran is now speaking directly to you. You. The person currently reading this. After this play is over, after you've gotten home and are maybe grabbing a snack, about to sit and chill out for minute, STOP. Just for a moment. And create something. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's good, if it's bad, small, large, doesn't matter. Doodle the first little character that pops into your head. Write down a funny string of words. Pause. Look at it. Think of how it makes you feel. Then, leave it be. Each time you pass by it, or have a spare minute, or have an idea gnawing away at you, add to it. Give the character a hat. Add a new sentence. Maybe a second paragraph. Keep doing it. A little here and there. Each throwaway moment of each passing day, immortalized on paper. Smile. You are an artist. Everyone can be.

Now that you’ve read these bios, you feel something, don’t you? A churning thirst, a gnawing hunger, to see Puppets in the Hands of a Malevolent God. Well. . . you’re in luck! You can buy tickets here:
