In this dreamy, romantic, neo-noir detective story (winner of the 2020 Windsor-Essex Playwriting Contest), Det. Miles Mallow spends his last day before retirement obsessing over the one case he could never let go: the murder of his neighbour, Kasara.
Although her husband Corky was convicted of the crime, Miles can’t shake the feeling he didn’t do it. Now, with the answer literally handed to him by his former partner Eastman (Joey Ouellette) and his former romantic rival turned commanding officer Hemmin breathing down his neck, does he have the courage to confront the truth? BLASTED

Post Productions is honoured to present this brilliant, intense, brutally beautiful, and subtle play - one of the most controversial and influential scripts of the 20th century - for Windsor-Essex audiences. In BLASTED, Ian, a middle-aged journalist, arranges a rendezvous in an upscale Leeds hotel room with Cate, a young woman with whom Ian hopes to rekindle a relationship that ended several years before. Outside their room, war is coming with an unseen and unspecified enemy. Unseen, that is, until a soldier arrives and the hotel room, and out assumptions about what's going on, are blown to pieces.
Although frequently produced in continental Europe, BLASTED is rarely staged in the English-speaking world. Post Productions is one of only four theatre companies to bring it to Canada. See it while you can; you may never get another chance. WARNING: This play is not suitable for children. It contains mature themes, offensive language, nudity, and acts of physical, sexual, and psychological violence. NOTE: Post Productions and The Shadowbox Theatre now require all patrons, cast, crew, and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
